How would you describe your photography style?
Well if we had to categorize it, I guess we would say our photography is a blend of different styles, predominantly informal with emphasis on keeping it real with a degree of documentary/reportage style. What we strive for is to give you our clients a true record of what actually happened on your wedding day & not what the photographer though should have happened. Looking through our featured wedding galleries will give you a good sense of what we’re about.
Can we meet you before the wedding to discuss our requirements?
I believe it is highly beneficial, where possible, for clients to meet with potential photographers for their wedding. However, if a meeting proves logistically impossible we can still discuss all your queries or concerns over the phone in detail and I can provide you with examples of my work to ensure that you are choosing the right photographer for you. The meeting takes place here in Charlbury where we have a dedicated meeting area, stacks of sample albums showing complete weddings.
How long do you stay on the day?
We provide a part day & full day coverage at your wedding .The photography can begin from the Bride and Groom’s preparations in the morning and we have options that finish either when you sit for your wedding breakfast or up to & including the speeches. Additional hours of coverage are £100 per hour
Are there any other costs aside from the costs of the packages?
The only potential additional costs are travel and accommodation expenses. If your wedding is taking place more than 50 miles away from where we are based in Oxfordshire, the travel charge is 40p per mile. In addition, if the wedding is more than 2 hours from where we are based, we will require accommodation for the evening before the wedding to eliminate the possibility of any traffic problems on the day itself.
How many photographs do you take on the day?
There is no limit to the number of images we will shoot on the day. You will be presented with the best of these which is usually between 300-500 images.
Do you take any formal or group photographs?
Absolutely. There are no restrictions to the type of photography done on the day. We will offer advice on the number or feasibility of the shots you want, based on timings of the day but otherwise your wedding coverage will be filled with the type of shots you want.
Who will take our photographs?
Beder & Jan are the sole photographers on your wedding day. We do not sub-contract other photographers, it is our vision, expertise & professionalism you will be getting & we wouldn’t want it any other way.
How do you deal with low light and bad weather conditions?
A good photographer should be able to capture your pictures in all conditions. We have all the professional photographic equipment required to deal with low light conditions and will research your venue thoroughly. Where possible I will visit the venue in advance to ensure there are locations we can use for the group photos, couple shots and bridal portraits in the event of bad weather.
What if I don’t like having my photo taken?
Don’t worry; many people feel the same way. We will discuss all your concerns before the day to take into account any worries you may have. Certain styles of photography are less intrusive than others and there are many ways to make you feel more comfortable and still get the shots you want from the day. Our options can include a pre-wedding shoot to work through any concerns you have and help you become more relaxed in front of the camera.
Do you offer black and white wedding photographs?
Black and white images can be striking and a proportion of your photos will be delivered this way. Usually this is about 30-35% of the images taken.
How long does it take until I can see my photographs?
All images have high quality post-processing done to them and the full gallery will be posted on-line within one week of your wedding, your high res set will be sent to you within four weeks after the date of your wedding.
What are the advantages of hiring a professional?
A professional photographer is experienced in capturing beautiful images despite the often stressful conditions that a wedding can present. They are proficient at organising group shots, creative when looking for good locations in bad weather conditions and technically experienced to take the very best images they can on your day. They are also aware of all the little details the bride and groom may want recorded. The equipment they use is specifically designed to capture perfect images in low light conditions, for example in ceremonies when flash is often prohibited. In addition a professional photographer will carry a full set of back up equipment in case of any problems on the day. Weddings often take years to plan and cost thousands of pounds. After the event the only thing which remains are your images, so it is worth making sure they are the best they can be.
